Access Routes

Verbier: La Rue de la Poste is closed from the eve of the race. The main road between Place Centrale and Carrefour is closed from 0600 to 0700hrs. Parking lots near the bike village are free for 3 hours. Then, it costs 5.-CHF per day from the 17th to the 20th August 20h00.

Nendaz: for the 0630hrs start, the main route, sports centre / roundabout / junction Siviez /Saclentse Road will be closed for about 15 to 20 minutes. The start point will be accessible by car until 15 minutes before the start. For the passage of riders from Verbier, only the Saclentse Road, and Beuson/Planchouet will be closed from 0730 to 1000hrs.

Thyon: At Collons, all access routes will be open, under the control of Police and Fire. Vehicles coming down from the direction of Hérémence will be stopped at the exit of  Collons in the direction of  les Masses and redirected to the rear of the station.

The route taken by the Theytaz buses (the mass) is diverted through les Mayens de Sion as far as Collons.

Eison La Vieille: The road from the village of Eison from “la pension du Pas de Lona” to “la Crettaz” will be closed to traffic on the day of the race from 0700 to 2000hrs. The road from Mayens to access “la Vieille” in the direction of Pas de Lona will be closed to traffic on the day of the race from 0700 to 1800hrs. Access to "la Vieille" during these times can only be gained on foot. That is to say from the village of Eison and "l'alpage de Loveignoz (above the village of Suen).

Pas de Lona from Eison: The road from the village of Eison from “la pension du Pas de Lona” to “la Crettaz” will be closed to traffic on the day of the race from 0800 to 2000hrs. The road from Mayens to access “la Vieille” in the direction of Pas de Lona will be closed to traffic on the day of the race from 0700 to 1800hrs.

Pas de Lona from Grimentz: take the cablecar, open from 6h30h, take the path to your left under the ski-lift and follow Pas/Basset de Lona, about 2hrs 30 mins on foot.  

Parking: There is parking at Grimentz but spaces are very limited.

Public Transport

It is advisable and encouraged to use public transport to reach the different stations through which the course passes.
